Most businesses don't have a growth problem: they have a workflow problem. Manual data entry, context switching between tools, and information that has to be carried by a person from one system to the next are what slow revenue down long before lead volume does.

The Trigger / Function / Action framework fits any automation, regardless of platform:

  1. Trigger. The event that starts the workflow, whether that's a form submission, a stage change, a payment, a missed call, a date arriving, a file appearing.
  2. Function. The logic in the middle, meaning filters that decide whether to continue, branching on conditions, formatting or enrichment, and any AI step that classifies, summarizes or drafts.
  3. Action. What happens as a result, whether that's a record created or updated, a message sent, a task assigned, a notification posted.

Naming those 3 parts before touching a builder is what keeps automations debuggable. When something misfires, the failure is always in one of the 3, and workflows built without that separation are the ones nobody can fix later.
